From the Studio: "Moby Dick - A Musical"

Spokane Public Radio

The Inland Northwest is the home of a new musical production of Herman Melville's "Moby Dick," with a libretto by Ed Bryan and music by William Berry. Ed Bryan visits the studio with Jeanne Hardie, the show's director, and actor Bill Garry (Captain Ahab) to discuss the musical and an upcoming trip to the Chicago Musical Theatre Festival in February 2020.

Spokane Civic Theatre will host a family-friendly fundraiser, including games, refreshments, and a silent auction, for "Moby Dick - A Musical," on Sunday, December 15, at 4 PM. For more information about the event, visit https://www.facebook.com/Spokane.Civic.Theatre/.

Verne Windham got his start at Spokane Public Radio 20 years ago. “I came in to complain and they hired me.” He’s now the Program Director, as well as the host of Morning Classical and Concert of the Week. When choosing music for Morning Classical, Verne likes to keep the agenda as broadly defined as possible. For Concert of the Week, he focuses on the best of recent local performances, mostly classical in nature. For many years, Verne was also the conductor of the Spokane Youth Orchestra. He enjoys gardening, his vintage car and playing French horn.
